Are you straight piped. That is a normal sound coming from the VVT turbo. Does it go from a rumble to a hiss and back to a rumble?

Yes I have 4" turboback. It goes from a rumble to a hiss like you describe, but only after driving it for a bit as when I first fire it up it is a constant hiss. I may have just not noticed it before but it seemed odd. I guess I might just be jumping to conclusions.

Sweet I am in the Oly area and work for BG products and have contacts at dealers state wide. I used to manage Titus-Will Chev in Oly and have alot of good friends there are you against driving?

I'm not against driving at all. I bought the truck from good chevrolet which is supposed to be a pretty decent outfit. I've got to talk to the sales manager and to the service department one more time tomorrow and I'll know what the deal really is. Depending on what happens tomorrow I'll be looking for another dealership so any help is appreciated but I may not need it just yet. Thanks for the offer and I'll let you know tomorrow what happens.

Definatley willing to help. One thing to remember is that the Service Mgr can be a good alli so be nice to him and if you have to be a d-bag to anyone crank on your sales guy. Yippee I owe ky-aaa

Did you buy the truck as a GM Certified Used Vehicle??? If you did, they have to warranty it as it extends the warranty for 12K miles from time of purchase. Also, I believe that code will also come up with a P003A code. As far as I know, from what you are describing, it maybe an oil feed problem at the turbo by either the vane solenoid or the feed pipe.

Well I ended up talking to someone that was helpful in the service department and I got an appointment tomorrow morning that's all covered so if it looks bad it shouldn't cost me but I guess we'll see. Thanks for the help everyone and I'll report back when I know what's going on.
