Talked to Scotty at T-Will Chevy and he said he always repolaces sensor and solenoid together then relears and it is covered under emission warranty.

Thanks for the help guys the dealer took a look and said it was all covered so they ordered the parts as they didn't have them in stock. The weird part is the light cycled itself off now, not throwing any codes at all, and seems to be running great so I'm not sure if I should cancel my appointment or still ask them about replacing the sensor. I notice that even though I have straight pipe exhaust the turbo spool at idle I mentioned before has stopped and is a constant rush of air now that the check engine light is off. I'm confused at this point...
Keep your appt it will be in history and can still replace parts and justify them. get it done while they are willing to do it.

I agree. Keep it. Get it done. If it turns out to not be the problem, they will have to still fix it till they get it right and you shouldn't have to pay a dime.
Just as a follow up on this, I just got my truck back after a few days at the dealer and apparently GM has posted a bulletin advising replacement of not only relevant sensors but the turbo as well if this code comes up. As a result I now have all new sensors and a new turbo which was all covered by the factory warranty. There was apparently an internal issue in the turbo and the sensor did its job. Was happy to hear I didn't have to pay that bill! Thanks again for the help.

I just replaced a turbo for customer also. They had the same code as you. Found it was the turbo because when you look at the info on the scanner for the turbo, the desired vane position and actual position did not match at idle. As the rpm increased, then the 2 values started to match.
Dropped mine at the dealership tonite after work. We will see what they come up with on mine-mine threw the same code.

Good luck. I was definately happy to get a new turbo out of the deal but the fact that there are enough going out for GM to post a bulletin doesn't thrill me either. Oh well hopefully it doesn't happen again...

Not nuch luck I have 62K on my truck and it needs a Turbo position sensor and solenoid to the tune of $766 + tax and thats at employee cost. I am calling the Service Director tomorrow for some assistance from GM. I used to be the Service Manager at this dealership for cryin out loud. I am pissed. They are trying to tell me that they have changed the warranty parameters and its not covered now. Have more info tomorrow..... Not happy right now. The double Jack and coke helped though.
