I have a stock 01 GMC LB7! I was going down the road and came to a stop light! I then turned left and got up to about 45 mph and it jumped into limp mode. I couldn't read the code because i didn't have my programmer with me. I let it cool down and disconnected the battery to clear the code. The code cleared and it was fine until the tranny reach higher temps. It jumps back into limp mode every time it reaches full temprature. If the tranny's cooler it runs and shifts fine. Any ideas what the problem could be?
man that doesn't sound good at all. i know its not good to have your tranny running at the highest temp. like you said it was.... for some reason its not staying cool. Checked the fluid lately? filters?

What type of Limp are you seeing? 2000 RPM Rev limiter or Locked in 3rd gear? What kind of programmer are you running and on what level? What type of driving when it does this?

I'm haven't read the code yet! So it may not even be a tranny problem. I'm just guessing because it was shifting kinda hard before it jumped into limp mode. When the tranny heats up it starts to harder than normal. I had it set to stock, but i have a superchip flashpaq. I just replaced the injectors in it and have been driving it for about two weeks now. I replaced the trans spin on filter two weeks ago after we got the injectors done. The tranny wasn't running hot it was just at normal temp. After it cools down and we reset the code it runs fine.
It wasn't locked in gear i don't think but it wouldn't rev over 2000rpm. I let it set for about ten minutes and started it back up and rev it up and it rev well above 2000rpm though. When it first went into limp mode it had a slight tick to it. It still had the tick when it was in park too.
If you are getting a 2000 RPM rev limiter it is most likely do to a fuel problem. example: fuel filter, wif sensor, fuel leak, etc. If you are getting stuck in 3rd gear then it will be a tranny problem.

Do you think its maybe some bad fuel? It ran good for about 30 miles and when i turned and got to about 45mph it jumped into limp mode. It did still smoke a little form when the injectors went out. Do you think it could be a return line? I didn't see any leaks but that doesn't mean that there aren't any. My oil smell like oil. It didn't smell like fuel at all. I have noticed my tranny acting a little funny though.
Well a fueling problem will make the tranny shift a little funny too. The codes would help a lot, if you could get it to act up again and read the code.
