Won't go above 2000 rpm's

I'm hoping someone can give me some insight on a reoccuring problem that I am having with my 2001 Duramax. For the past 10 months I have had an issue with the engine not going above 2000 rpm's. This happens both in summer and winter temperatures and it is not consistant. When I first had the dealer look at it they said that they needed to replace all of the fuel injectors; fortunately it was covered under warrenty. The problem continued so I brought the truck to the dealer again. This time they said it was the turbo boost sensor so I paid to have that replaced. It did not solve the problem. Does anyone have any idea's on what the problem can be?

i'm not sure what the problem is but on my 05 lly when i run it to hard it does the same thing,if i'm not mistaken it has something to do with fuel rail pressure, buy a new fuel filter that should take care of the problem, fixed my truck plus i have a programmer when it does it then i just reprogram it

Thanks for the reply. I also thought the fuel filter could be the problem but it wasn't; I had it replaced and still had the same issues. When the injectors were replaced, they also replaced the fuel rail.

No, I still have the problem. I will have to go back to the dealer but its obvious that they don't know what's wrong.

have them check the lift pump, fuel pump and fuel lines.p.s. just a thought if the fuel isn't getting to your fuel rail fast enough it wouldn't have enough fuel rail pressure

I had the same problem last year. It was due to a blocked fuel filter due to puting in some bio-diesel from a truck stop that had just changed to it and the bio-diesel actually cleans out the old storage tank and pumps the trash into your tank. So, try getting your fuel from another source if you only get it from one location.
