2008 New Body Style Sunroof water gutter

Bought a Weathertech sunroof wind deflector to go on my brand new 2008 GMC 2500 Duramax HD. No matter what I do the small mounting clips leak water through the sunroof gasket. Weathertech has been great with trouble shooting but they do not have an answer or fix for me. They tell me that the built in gutterting system for the sunroof automatically drains this type of water and it is not a problem whatsoever as the water will not come in the interior of the vehicle but drains harmslessly outside. Can anyone confirm this - is this true? Thanks for any replies.
