Tonneau covers

Has anyone ever seen or used this cover? I think it looks pretty usable. Was wondering if you could tow a fifth wheel with it in the retracted position? Thanks.

Couple things....

I've just done A LOT of research on tonneau covers....and I would not recommend that cover at all. Anything that will take weather abuse and work abuse and runs off of ball bearings...I wouldn't even touch that. If they wear, or rust, or get wet and freeze....you have no bed to use. If you want a retractable cover.....Look at BakFlip or Extang Solid Fold. I just got the Extang...and think it's great....and you could fold both covers over and haul a 5th wheel. The Bakflip goes the whole way to the back windsheild leaving the whole bed open..... Just research them.....I've not heard too many a guy liking the garage door style covers..

Wow, that's why this place is so awesome. I didn't even think of the bearings. Thanks. The main reason I liked this one was that it stowed inside the bed instead of blocking the window. Post some pics of yours if you get a chance.

if you want a retractable one check out retrax, they are made up here in north dakota so they tend to stand up great with the temp changes and such. If you want a roll up type the access are also a great product. I had some other, an extang cost me 2500 in damage when it lifted off and came on top of my cab in the wind. If you call retrax you can get blems cheaper too! they told me there may be a small scratch but nothing huge. The product is great though, check it out.

I have some experience with tonneaus, Roll up tonneaus are great. Lund makes them for all sizes of box. their side rails do not interfere with 5th wheel as I have it on mine. The cover is pretty much weather proof - the occasional leak around corners--very minor. The Pull tonneaus from my inlaws experience take up bed space, can be used open or partially open, but sometimes are a pain to operate if they jam or cold gets at them not to mention the draw rope is out of reach--again minor things. But for the bang for the Buck I prefer the roll up it is far easier and just as effectice, so much so My father inlaw switched to a roll up as opposed to his pull type as you have seen.

I will try to take some pics tonight. I'm def. not saying ExTang is the best....but there is nothing that attaches to your truck....if you want to go to a completely stock bed in 2 minutes....you can. I use my bed A LOT...esp. in the winter...I haul a 700 grizzly, tons on coal, etc...and anything that can freeze is not worth the money to me. This cover will come off no matter what. The BakFlip looks pretty cool, but you always have hardware attached to your bed...I dunno...it's a tough decison. I just know if you want any kind of protection, don't get a soft top...my dad has one and he hates it...as do I.

I have the Bakflip folder on mine and I tow a 5th wheel with it on folder up 3/4 length while going down the road at speed. My pinbox is low enough the cover is always closed with tailgate locked you can't open it and I can open it all the way if I need more room. I got tired of the soft ones in the winter shrinking or letting water in. just my thoughts
