do you guys have any opinion about the various types of tonneau covers? i had the standard one on my 2000 silverado but there have been many upgrades since then. i like to be able cover my stuff but still be able to use my truck as a truck. so therefore the hard top ones are out.

Don't count the hardtop ones as out......I use my truck as a truck ALL the time, and also carry luggage a lot and lock the top....I have an Extang Solid Fold and a pop lock on my tailgate....I LOVE IT. Check out my videos on how easy it is to take on and off and the features.
that's pretty sweet. so where'd you get it and how much? also, does it leak water all?

I have the Roll-n-Lock. I really like it, but it will leak a little water in a heavy storm. Not enough to really matter, but I wouldn't keep electronics in the bed when it's raining. I want to say mine was just under $1,000 installed. Good luck.
