I think on the vans they come with a 4L80E which does hold good power but not like an Ally. Also I think the Dmax on the vans come with different programming (less power) than that of a pick up.

You can add a little power, but don't add much. The 4L80E is a strong transmission, but it's no match for a dmax. The torque is what will kill it. If I remember tomorrow I'll try and find where I saw the limits of the 80E. I saw it somewhere, cuz a guy built up his van and smoked his 80E.

I have been running a 50 horse tune and the exhaust for over 50,000 miles with zero problems. The number 1 issue with the vans being derated is engine overheating.

um... I'd say the number one issue is blowing up the tranny! why would a derated engine overheat? Less power = less heat, or did I miss something when I took thermodynamics?

Nope, the 4l80e cannot take 650 lb tq minimum. Mike L told me awhile ao it can only take 460 or so.
egr plate will be easy to do and diamond eye downpipe since its right behind the doghouse.

Yeah that thread on DD was the one I was thinking of, talking about how much power the 4L80E can (can't) take.
