A downloader/programmer(PPE, EFi Live, Quad) will leave a very easy to see fingerprint as the computer records the last 10 times the computer has been reflashed and at what mileage.

An inline box/module (edge) intercepts the signals and tricks the computer into thinking things are normal thus not registering anything on the computer that things arent normal.

they still can only read the info in freeze frame mode. the ecu do not record all the time .only when a code is set,, they can see a none gm tune was put in thats all

That last paragraph is BS and you all know it! Techs nowadays are trained to R&R stuff not tear down and repair. do you know how much money you and or GM would have in taking a motor out of a truck and tearing it down and documenting everything wrong with it?! That is a good post and good info to have to take to the dealer if something goes wrong but in the end it’s a crap shoot getting something fixed if something goes really wrong.

I know my warrantee is null and void and I could give 2 Sh*ts because I knew full well when modding it that I was taking that motor and trans into my own hands and wallet. Now granted I would try and get it fixed for free first but when they said no I would be the last person coming on here bitching about.
