welcome to the DF..sounds like you all have some nice rides..
if he is having IdahoRob build the tranny tell him to listen very carefuly to what Rob tells him what he needs to do performance wise on his Duramax,Rob knows what he is doing!
i would do a Kodiak mouthpiece since the stock turbo mouth pieces are extremely restrictive and can cause engine over heats and extra stress on the turbo!
mouthpiece=the plastic piece that mounts against the mouth of the turbo on the CAI side of the turbo!
another mod would be a bigger down pipe..the oem ones are very restrictive as well.doing a BD manifold isnt a bad idea also.
also i would do the ported rail fittings, tell him to ask Rob where they go!
also the benefit of doing a PCV reroute is so that the blowby off the valves doesnt end up in the intercooler and in the intake of your engine..if you look at the intercooler pipes you'll notice that they have grease/oil residue where the boots are, thats what causes that! the benefit of doing a EGR block plate is to keep that soot out of the intake..

Yeah Rob made that perfectly clear from what im told which is a good thing, cause there isn't anyone around where we are from that really understands the Dmax like he needs.... he has a bigger downpipe already and when he gets the EFIlive and tranny from Rob hes going to upgrad to 5'' from 4''... im familure with what EGR blocker will do because my 6.0 (nuff said on that) we recently did the plug on the plasitc part on the turbo (not sure exactly what its called) but i put a 2'' plug in it and then put the 6.6 plastic piece back on... there wasn't much of a difference at all but he said he can tell a little...
thanks..

doesn't his truck have high idle from the factory? mine does. i thought it was standard on '03 and up.
it probably does.... I know my truck will idle up automatically when its cold but I like having the ability to manually do it so I put in a switch to do that... he was wondering if there is a way to wire his to where he can make it idle up whenever he wants.. like if its hot outside and he wants the a/c to get colder fast or something.. thats usually what i use mine for...

with the EFILive he should be able to adjust that and turn it off and on..

thanks fellas... and yeah that little switch up there looks about like what im looking for.. cept on mine there are a few wires already in the truck.. hook em together and wala it goes to 1200 rpm just like that.. but for 25 bucks that doesn't seem too bad... he might just want to wait if he can do with EFIlive... of course im assuming that the efilive is constant? like my SCT... i keep my truck on a constand rpm of 775 at idle instead of the factory 650.... but the switch makes it jump to 1200 whenever the truck is in park or neutral and no foot on the break...
thanks again
