Well I'm new to the world of diesel tuning. Kinda not really. I've been working on diesel trucks for a long time to keep them running, not to get all the mpg's out of them or power and what not.
I've been a long time camaro owner and titan owner, and I've decided that it's time for me to upgrade to a Duramax diesel. I'm working on getting an 06 ext cab 4x4. with the allison obviously. I'm wanting to have enough money so that I can get a good down payment and get all the mods I want right away. or the essentials. subs, intake, exhaust, gauges, programmer. yea.
I'm looking at getting the 3 pillar gauge mount. what would i need? boost, pyro, fuel pressure? 0-35 psi or 0-60 psi? I would like a rear diff temp gauge, but i'm sure fuel pressure is more important. when tuning
Looking at EFI Live. heard great things.
I'm looking at getting stacks. dual stacks. 5 inch or 6 inch? what's the diff?
What kind of MPG's do people around here get with these add ons?
EFI is the way to go. but if you get to big of a tune you better get a trans. upgrade.Im still waiting to get EFI myself. I think the dual 6inch stacks look the best. You really dont need an intake untill your over 500hp, but it does make the turbo sound louder which i like. If you get a tuner other then EFI IMO id go with the PPE, i love mine, awesome power..idk if i helped any lol

Pyro and boost is what most people go with on a two gauge pillar mount. I also suggest looking at the Edge Insight monitor as you can look at a ton of different parameters with it on a digital monitor. Install is also very easy.
5" vs 6" stacks is all personal preference for look and sound. Most people go with 6" because they look better.
With the mods you are planning, 2-4 MPG gains are possible. It all depends on how you drive. Let me know if theres anything I can help with.
alright so i take it with those mods i would see around 18mpg? i'm assuming that the stock fuel economy being 14ish? i'm usually a pretty conservative driver.
you should update your sig for future references..as for guages i have boost and pyro From ISSPRO
EFI live is the only way to go if you plan on doing bigger and better things for your rig...otherwise i would suggest the PPE
and switching your rig over to full synthetics will also help with mileage.
Let me know if i can help.
Have a good day

yea i've heard lots of good things about the LB7 with fuel economy. I believe though i'm going to get a LLY i believe or an LBZ if I can find one for the right price.
