Turbocharger Choices?

I Feel Like a Dog Stuck between Two Fire Dydrients,
06-LBZ What is the best Single turbocharger up-grade Really do not want to Deal with Twins, & then Dual CP3,s And then Rods pistons ETC.
What is the best Single that spools the fastest an will pump out 600--650HP for a great all around daily Driver And help lower egts a little No- Towing- Pulling .
I may go to local drags a couple times nothing major.

Cheetah--- BD--- HTT---- ATS ??? or any others i may have forgot

if you go anything above 30psi your going to need head studs a very big expensive job. i'm an lb7 fan with the straight rate turbo but yours has the variable vane. I belive ats makes a variable turbo but is probabbly bukko bucks. personally would use your money and buy a built tranny and buy a good programmer ppe, efi live etc. besides anything over about 500 rwhp and your going to have to build up your bottom end to handle the extra power far as your egts put a 5" turbo back exhaust with a cat delete will run consederably cooler.

you can go 45-50 lbs. boost on stock bolts. you cannot go above 575hp for very long on stock motor. I would go ppe gt 4088 or industrial injection silver 62 for single cp3 and no internal mods.

The cheetah would be a good choice, but only with efi live for tuning. Since it is a VVT you have to have EFI to control boost levels. If you want to run PPE you could look at the ATS Auroa 4000 or the Garret GT40.

Turbo

How would these others perform VS the Cheetah
I guess they may be a little quieter too perhaps. How does the ATS compare with PPE & Silver-62?

I know the cheetah will be a faster spool up because it is a VVT. I am not sure about the capairison between the other three.

We do not have a Variable turbo. The MST (which is what I am prototyping) is the closest thing to a Variable turbo we have however it is still being tested and is not available. Turbo size all depends on what the truck is used for and what your HP goal is.

Well on the LBZ, you may be looking at pistons if you are planning on getting to the 600-650. They are significantly weaker in the LBZ than in the LLY and the LB7. I have had A LOT of customers with LBZs come in here with cracked pistons around that power range.

Fact of the matter is that if you are looking for a fuel only truck that makes 650hp, don't expect the same spool time as the factory turbo. It takes a larger turbo to support that power.

With the gt4094 I saw 40 psi and a spike of 44 psi, at only 32 psi I made 567 rwhp and 1030 tq and ran 12.54 @ 110 at 7060lb.
