hey all i just added a hypertech programer today to my dmax...a buddy convinced me to do it..lol...needless to say i was a little leary at first when i heard some of the trannies limping on these dmax's and that i still owe a chuck of money oon it.. but it is sweet!! i love it...and its only like 90hp..just a question for all too..i won't be doing any damage to it with this tune will i? my buddy said it won't he said its mild, keep in mind the truck is bone stock no mods cept this!

You should be fine, 90 hp is the limit on the stock tranny. Just be sure to not be at WOT when it shifts to 5th gear. If you are gonna tow you may want to back it down a level though.

thanks for the info.... i do tow quite often in the summer months.. i tow a 25ft deck over and a 3500lb off road car..usually i don't use tow haul for that kind of a load unless im going up a bunch of hills. you think id be allright at 90hp tune towing just that kinda weight?? trailer weight is almost 4500 lbs..just curious..don't wanna screw anything up..and im not to wild on the throttle..although i was today...haha

IMO i would drop it to a 60-75 HP tune to tow. Not only for the tranny, but also for the EGTs.

ok ill keep that in mind ..thanks for the advice for sure...just a pain cuz i gotta reprogram it everytime i wanna switch the tune..but will be better than breakin sumthin

Sweet! So you like it over all? I never had one but it seems that hypertech makes a pretty decent tuner for the price!

Im with BRC. Stick with the 90 tune and your trans will be fine!
