I am reading all the threads.. about keep the cat or not.. Still not sure what to do. I just ordered today MBRP 4" Cat Back in stainless.. Wondering now if I should return it and get the Turbo Back instead... My son said get the Turbo Back and we put the stock Cat in line... Will that work?
yea putting the stock cat back on can work, most of us would straight pipe it and eliminate the cat to lower the egt and add some turbo whistle. I cant remove my cat because i found out in my state we have emission testings and they put a probe in my tailpipe, it sucks. they just passed a new law in jan for that. i wish i could get rid of my cat.

If it where me i would go turbo back, IMO the cat back systems really don't do much as far as performance goes. If you wanted it where you could put the cat back on for a emissions test then get a "catback" system and buy the MBRP "frontpipe". Both of these will have the 4 bolt flange like the factory exhaust. So when it's time for the emissions test all you have to do is change the front pipe back to the stock front pipe.
Tdpete: what year truck do you have? Depending on that you may or may not get a SES light with the cat gone. IF you do get the light then there are ways to block it.
BTW welcome to the site!!!

With the cat you will have no light, but without more than likely you will get the light from time to time. Here is a article that may help you better understand the emissions system.
The truck is a 07 Classic Crew.. Do you think I will have light problem, and with I have it with and without the Cat?
If you are using the Juice with attitude just set the menu to display and clear DTC's upon startup...

Each truck is different on the codes without the cat. Mine never had any codes when I put on my Turboback system. I know the Edge seems like a great all in one tuner but, there are som members on here that have not had goodluck with the edge. Might search that as well as some exhaust. Back on topic, Turboback will have a better sound, reduce egts and help you mileage a little bit with a good tuner like a PPE, Quadzilla, or Predator.

what is the best turbo back would you guys recommend? I like the banks setup and its stainless steel. MBRP seems good. My truck came with a 4" cat back which i already know it doesnt even sound like an exhaust to me at all, sometimes at WOT i can feel the excessive backpressure from the cat, it makes my truck hestitate then begins to pickup as the boost increase. Im planning to get a boost guage, pyro, and one more that im not sure to get, not sure if a 3 pillar is what i really need or a 2 pillar. is there any manufacturer that makes free flow cats? I cant remove my cat because they do emission testing out here and i would like to disable the egr but not sure if it will pass without the egr.
