benefits of a downpipe?

i was thinking about putting a dp on my truck in my sig. what are the benefits of have a dp? how big can i go? does make it sound any different? how hard is to install a bigger dp? thanks

dp=PITA. lowers egts a bit and supposed to make a difference in sound.

I got the mbrp dp. Hard to put in. lowered egts and they drop faster. Does sound a little different.

I was looking into a tube for my truck but IMO unless your running a bigger turbo there not worth it.

They make a 4" most are 3". Like said before....unless your turbo outlet matches the size of your downpipe inlet...what's the point. 3" is perfect unless custom turbo work is done.

I can stick a tuba on a straw but......

my buddys 6litre ford they went 4 from actual turbo back its nice,to bad theres no room on the dmax for that. what are are stock down pipes? lly
