Cat filter

So my cat adaptor has lost prime 3 times since install. I'm starting to think more and more that this is going to be a constant issue. When I installed I took the check ball and spring out so my question is what do I need to do to fix this? If I have to I'll just revert back to the oem filter till I get an air dog or something

did you get the rebuild kit when you bought the adapter or did you use the old gaskets.

Mine is doing the same thing so I put the oem back on. I notice when I took the cat Adp off on the rubber seal that the grease that I put on was down to the rubber on the two opposite and there was a 1 / 16 of grease on the two opposite side of each other so that told me the filter housing is warped. So tomorrow I'm going to NAPA to get some liquid gasket put a bead down on the cat Adp to see if that cures the problem.

You're lucky! I pure deformed the little 1/4" holes I was tightening it so tight and it still leaked!

Alligator made it. That's why I posted under adp section.

But I'm running a Donaldson filter and idk if it's the filter or the adaptor but it's leaking in between the 2 because I popped my hood and saw a couple air bubbles come out.

I haven't really messed with it since the first install but maybe when I get paid I will buy a rebuild kit and year into it one more time before I go back to the oem filter.

But what I don't get is what could cause it to lose prime? Filter, adaptor or bad gaskets?

I rebuilt my fuel filter head at the same time I installed the nicktane yesterday and when I put my old wix back on it quit leaking so its definately the adapter

Well I guess I will pick up a rebuild kit next week and start over again.

But something tells me a dhit load o silicone is gonna be the only cure to these adapters smh...

And S&B air intake good to be driving a diesel again. 2002 Chevy silverado 2500 HD, LB7, traded it on a gasser and then traded it in for LBZ.
