In past winters, I used the winter power service (white bottle). Among other things, it's supposed to suppress the cloud/gel point of the fuel.
This winter, I'm going to find the effects of not using that additive. Instead, I'm continuing the summer practice of using the gray bottle power service. So far, the fuel hasn't gelled up and the truck runs normally. I ran the truck to -15*F and had no problems whatsoever.
So, I'm beginning to think I may never need to use a cloud/gel point depressant ever again.
Since i am looking for lubricity above all i use Stanadyne. You can find it at a store in your area you just need to look. I can get it at the Tractor Supply and they have it stocked regularly.
Plus its the cheapest readily available option.
