Why are fuel prices so high?!?!?!

I see this morning that crude has dropped to below $90/barrel. So, why in the *&^% are all fuel prices still through the roof??? All the hype last year when oil was reaching $100/barrel made fuel reach just around $4/gal. Now, the price of crude is dropping but I sure as heck do not see the reflection at the pump!!! Nor do I hear the tree-hugging liberals whining about those "evil speculators". Sorry. Had to vent to some folks who feel the same pain I do every time that I pull into a fuel station. My fiance and I don't make a lot of money but are doing ok, and these prices kill our budget.

Here's a site that explains a little. I realize the source might be "biased" but from what I understand these are all true facts.

Why Gasoline Prices Refuse to Slide

Obama and his cronies have already TOLD us fuel prices are going to stay high. Reason? If prices are low, we will have no incentive to become "green". We will just continue to recklessly burn fuel and destroy the environment if it doesn't hurt to fill up.

All very true...hard to get something across the great expanse of this nation with a prius though....or even a VOLT!!! Hopefully, obumbles and his cronies are all out of time, and they will all be part of the "falling" unemployment numbers come december.

I heard the ex-ceo of shell oil on hannity a while back and the facts that he submitted were amazing. Talking about how within 5 years we could have fuel down in the 2.50 range. I would do backflips if i could get 4 gallons of fuel for 10 bucks lol

Ally Cat nailed it.

Also, Lets say you're the guy that puts the profits in his pocket or at least gets hefty bonuses for the profits. You raise prices and everyone still buys. Hard to cut prices when you're making all this money.

We should come together and decide when we buy fuel and when we don't. When they see how much power we have, maybe they'll do something about it.

I like this, maybe we start a poll and vote when we all buy fuel.

I saw diesel around Houston drop from like 3.89 to 3.66 (HEB) and $3.69 (Valero) this weekend.

If the excise tax on fuel wasn't almost $.40/ gal, it would only be $3.29 and regular unleaded would be $2.89-2.99

Fast forward to June 23 and diesel at Buckies on 290 is $3.29, and alot of Valeros are $3.49-3.51.

What a difference 3 weeks makes.
