Alternative Fuels - Diesel - Additives - LubricantsDiscussion Of Diesel, its Various Additives, Oils, Lubricates & Alternative Fuels EG. Bio-Diesel ect...
Every single duramax, i do a fuel filter on gets dex 3 in the filter, filled to the top. It DOES not cause any problems. You can run your any duramax up until 07.5 on atf only and it will run GREAT. 07.5 and newer you cannot run it, due to the dpf.
I did not ask, nor do I care what you put in your fuel fitlers. This thread asked who uses 2 cycle oil in their fuel. If you can't stay on topic then don't post.
Again, Dex3 is not and never has been formulated as a combustable fuel additive. You can add all sorts of crap to diesel fuel and it will burn it. That does not mean it is right or beneficial or even economical. Low ash 2 cycle oil, adds lubricity, is designed for combustion and is inexpensive.

My buddy runs his truck (Dodge/Cummins) on used transmission fluid (Filtered)...He works at the shop and never has to buy diesel fuel. I thought he was crazy, but I know he hasn't had any problems...

I would like to hear from others who do this with a dpf. P.S where do you buy standyne?
I bought my Stanadyne at rochesterfuel.com.

atf= not so good idea....maybe its fine in 7.3's and 12 valves but im pretty sure there is extensive literature from GM engineers on why not to run it....ive seen it in Diesel Power
i know its something to do with injection pressure and also the amount of ash it leaves behind. CP3's dont like it
as for 2 cycle i dunno....still wouldn't do it. diesel kleen is cheap enough and im sure works as good or better

I use to test with 2 cycle and noticed no real differences in mileage or anything. I have tried many, and now use Diesel Fuel Concentrate and have noticed increased fuel economy as well as a smoother running truck. Even over Stanadyne. As for cost per tank, I am not allowed to post anything about pricing, but anyone interested in hearing about the per tank cost should email me at allinonelogisticsllc@gmail.com for more information..
Could you PM me a price on this stuff i would like to know about the gains as well and where i can get this stuff? Anyone else used this before?

I use the AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate bigdaddydiesel is referring to. I run it every tank and have noticed a slight gain in MPG (1-2) and a lot smoother, quieter running Dmax.

I use it in mine. A little bit thicker too even. I run it at a 128:1 ratio.. It ends up being 1 oz to a gallon. I hadn't seen anything posted about til now on here so its good to know TBay others are running it. I also run it in my cummins and as a matter of fact there is a guy over on the sister site cumminsforum that swears by 2 stroke and has done pretty extensive research on it and also has facts on what not to use as well...including atf

Each fillup, I add 4 ounces of 2-cycle, and 4 ounces of dieselkleen. i have had no problems on my '04, with 168K on it. i don't do it for mileage increase, i do it for lubricity.

I have tried 2 cycle oil and also diesel kleen. Will be trying amsoil next. I have ran dex 3 1 qt to a take once or twice but only to help clean the injectors.
