Alternative Fuels - Diesel - Additives - LubricantsDiscussion Of Diesel, its Various Additives, Oils, Lubricates & Alternative Fuels EG. Bio-Diesel ect...
Does anyone else use 2 cycle oil in their diesel? I add 12oz of 2 cycle oil to every fill up and the truck runs quieter and is more responsive. The oil more than makes up for the lack of lubricity in ULSD.
if you want to add something thats cheap to your fuel add 1 quart of dex3 atf NOT SYNTHETIC. every tank. If you want to add better stuff get stanadyne performance formula. It will cost you about 3.50 a tank to add.

I use to test with 2 cycle and noticed no real differences in mileage or anything. I have tried many, and now use Diesel Fuel Concentrate and have noticed increased fuel economy as well as a smoother running truck. Even over Stanadyne. As for cost per tank, I am not allowed to post anything about pricing, but anyone interested in hearing about the per tank cost should email me at allinonelogisticsllc@gmail.com for more information..

Dex 3 is not designed for combustion applications so I doubt it would burn very clean. On the other hand low ash 2 cycle oil is designed specifically to add lubrication to fuel which is good for pumps and injectors and then burn clean. I tried standyne and basically I was not impressed.
I know someone who owns an 03 powercrook and he puts in 2cycl oil every other tank. I don't know how this will stand with the dpf in the 07.5 and newer because I would like to try it. but yes it is good to use probably the best to use also and no one really knows it and besides it is cheap. I would like to hear from others who do this with a dpf. P.S where do you buy standyne?

Banks Ram Air system and the scoop in near future.
Be careful putting in the ATF, because the red die will make our friends at the DOT think we are running off road diesel. They will think you are triing to beat paying the road tax. They accually dip our tanks at roadside inspections around here. It's something to think about.

I ran it before with no issues quieter running and slight mpg gain. But the amsoil diesel concentrate is a lot easier as it comes in smaller bottles.

Every single duramax, i do a fuel filter on gets dex 3 in the filter, filled to the top. It DOES not cause any problems. You can run your any duramax up until 07.5 on atf only and it will run GREAT. 07.5 and newer you cannot run it, due to the dpf.
