Lbz/lmm

What do these letters stand for. What do I have? 2006 2500 HD. What month it was made do not know, would have to look on inside of door (which I will do when I get off work). There is way too much info. on here, find it hard to do my work

LB7 is 1st gen motor, LLY is 2nd gen, LBZ is 3rd gen, LMM is 4th gen. a 2006 is eather an LLY or an LBZ depends what your vin says.

You will have either an LLY or LBZ. You can tell by looking at your VIN number. Look at the 8th digit. It will either be 2 or D. If it's 2 you have an LLY (which in 06 is the same motor as the LBZ, just tuned differently), and if it's D you have the LBZ. Only difference between them is the power. LLY makes 310hp stock, and the LBZ makes 360hp. Same motor just different tuning is all. Same transmission too.
