Finally full service w/ AMSOIL

Pretty pumped. Did a full service at the house. New NAPA WIX fuel filter. And switched to full synthetic AMSOIL 5-40. I also did the engine flush AMSOIL makes and then drained it and ran an AMSOIL filter. Went real easy. I ahead of time planned on doing the fuel filter by removing the wheel well. Made it easy and was much easier than I thought. Not driving tomorrow but so I can't really get to go see how she feels with the good oil and some good fuel flow. My DIC said I think 10% remaining on both fuel And oil so there should be a difference!

Hope to post more positive reviews on running the new oil.

Please let us know, I am considering doing the oil, tans, and diff fluid real soon and switching to Amsoil. Did you get the Amsoil products from Napa? Please let me know.

I did my trans full synthetic with a flush over like 8k miles ago and that was well worth it. Wasn't AMSOIL but I will use it next time. I got my oil and filters at my friends local shop. He does power equiptment but sells amsoil and he is a Duramaxer himself. He sort of helped convert me into it. I ended up paying his cost for all of it. Still pricey but it should go a lot longer so I read. I did it mostly for winter starts and plowing. I will be sure to post how I like it and anything I notice when I drive her.

I switched everything over to Amsoil except the transfer case @ 54,000 miles. I put the bypass oil filter system on also.
I'm @ 225,000 miles now and have liked every thing. I don't use Amsoil filter on the Allison because I have a ally dealer here and get there filter for around $8.00 each. I use A/C fuel filter also because I know a guy at the dealer and was buying them for $28.00.

I use there 5-30 HDD motor oil because I do very little hauling.

I bought my first D-max about two weeks ago with almost 130K miles. Wasn't sure where the maintanance was at on it but am a believer in Amsoil products. My dealer I get stuff through here says that everyone is using the Amsoil ATL in the tranny, and ATF in the transfer case. and then a 75w90 in diffs. Should I be worried at all switching over to the synthetics with that many miles? And is anyone using those fluids in those places? Already switched over the engine to 5w30 series 3000 w/ amsoil filter.

The ATL in the tranny is fine for your tranny, the ATF in the transfer case is what is called for in the owners manual, but I have had many people weighing in that using 5w-30 synthetic gives them good results for less. These are Tranny builders nationwide saying that, if you use tranny fluid you need two quarts, if 5w then three quarts as it does not foam up like the tranny fluid.

75w-90 in the Diffs is a good recommendation.

the 5w-30 Series oil is a good oil indeed! It sounds like your dealer has you good and taken care of...
