BUT, what i think happened is there have been a few times when ive switched to D2 and turned the tune up before the SVO was purged from my system. that couldnt have been good. i suppose i should try to keep my cool when another diesel pulls up for a light-to-light run. . Anyway i totally aggree with you that the SVO is great for road trips, i can get around 1,300miles on a full tank of SVO and diesel. thats daily driving too, about 120miles a day to work and back. Ill get that fuel pressure regulator off and take a look at whats going on and post it ASAP. keep on
Im sure you are busy and all but did you ever find out the problem?! Also, although you know... make sure you always purge throughly before you switch over or shut down.

O and hey lead foot, fuels to expensive to be racing for free. Do a fifty for fun run next time . At least then you can actually pay for half a tank of fuel.

Leucious, how does the Golden Fuel Systems kit handle the cooling of the FICM Computer?

Hey guys whats up? Yeah i always purge for at leats about 3-5miles before shutting down, unless im just running in the store or somthing but you know.

The golden fuels systems kit doesnt have any provision for cooling the FICM. I think i read that for the LBZ engines its no longer cooled by fuel. BUT im not sure. If you or someone DOES know for sure PLEASE let me know. I dont want to be deepfrying my FICM, and its somthing i worry about alot. The GFS pretty much just taps in after the stock fuel filter in the rubber hose right before the shreader valve that sticks up. The more i read and learn about the stock fuel system the more i think there needs to be a way to regulate the temp of the oil rather then just heat-and-forget. To be honest (and im not terribly proud of this) i dont even know what the temp of the oil is. Id guess 150-180F being as it is heated by the engine coolant, and on warm days it gets pretty hot. And a problem i have with the GFS system is when you purge, the 6way valve switches supply and return at the same to so any oil in the system that is going into the return line goes to the diesel tank.

And unfortunatley i havent been able to replace my fuel pressure regulator yet. but as soon as i do you guys will know.
