Question will a 2002 BD short shifter work on a 2003?

I asked this question on another forum and haven't recieved any response. So I thought I would try here.

I might be getting a 2002 shifter (new) and was wondering if it will fit on my 2003. Both are Dodge Diesels 6-speeds

It is going to depend on what tranny you have. If it was on a NV5600 and your 03 has the same tranny then it will work.

Id call the dodge dealership and ask the parts guys if they think it will work or if both the years have the same part number for the shifter.

Thanks for the responses guys. Both trucks have the NV5600 6-speed. I did get a response from BD Power, and they said one of the parts (I think the shaft?) was different. They could sell me the part, but it was too much!

I'm going to install the new shifter and make it work! hahahah

Thanks again, fellas!
