True iv noticed on some data logs that my wheel speed is at 26-27 mph while the autos are at 21-22mph!!!

But are you hooking up? My best pulls all log a wheel speed of 22mph. Both times I was told the sled speed was 19mph. That big wheel speed is a sign of lack of traction to me.

Max sled speed is not always where it is at. Dodges usually have high peak speed. They like to use more gear then we do. But here is the biggy we sustain the speed longer due to our wider powerband. You see a lot of Dodges loss speed and drop the turbo. While the Dmax will hold speed and spinout at the end. I have bogged and dropped the turbo but only on real high bit tracks.

I've always thought a faster sled speed was the goal and with that came the distance?.
Not sure what the sled speed was on my last pull but i know watching the video, it was really moving at half track with very little being slun off the tires, but the sled had a real hard droping pan and after that it did just blow the tires off. but i dont expect to win with 265 street tires on?
I have a set on loan form a member that should help me hook up better but it needs to quit raining first!
Later

Yes sort of. If you have are faster than me at 100' but I faster at 200' who will go farther. High early speed is great if you have grunt to hold it. If your loosing rpms at 150'. Your big speed means little.

I see what you mean. That would be the difference between a Cummins and a Duramax.Have you ever tried pulling in 5th low?I've been very tempted but dont want to try it in front of a couple thousand people.
