Need More Power For The Lly!!!

I currently have a 2005 Duramax with the following:

Edge w/attitude
FASS 150/150
5" MBRP (turbo back)

It seems like I still don't get enough fuel when I'm in leval 4, and when in leval 5 it takes off awesome but stalls for a minute then goes. Is it fuel or the tranny? What would you suggest as my next upgrades? I just order the 5" muffler delete pipe.

What about the PPE egr block plate?
What about the PPE racing shim?

Also I love the black smoke, I realize it takes away from performance but I would love to throw out more smoke, how would I do that?

I'm looking for anything right know, I know of several upgrades that take some serious cash, I'm looking for some inexpensive starts.

I TOOK OF THE BULLY DOG SHIFT KIT, IT WAS JUNK

Sell the edge and buy a PPE and you will get plenty of smoke and more power and fuel then your stock tranny can handle. The EGR blocker plate is a good cheap idea, I am not that familar with the edge so I cant say if a fuel valve shim would be beneficial for you or not. And lastly start putting some money away for the tranny upgrade because you will definetly need it to get any real power to the ground. Good luck!!

I agree. This will have to be done to get any real power and smoke.

What u are experinceing is called Defuel. Kills the power inbetween shifts. Make sure to have a race valve or a shim kit because that will limp your fuel rail

Personally, start with the transmission. Build it up right, and it will stand up to lots of power. Now, this will allow you to go into the Edge and turn the defuel on shifts option off. Don't do this without a trans unless you really want one right now!
This plan will hold you over while you plan your next move, which would be to sell the Edge and go for a PPE tuner, like a Hot or Hot+2. Yes,do the blocker plate and shim, After the trans.
