Which model?

Hi,

I am planning to build a 1976 Camero with a Duramax and a Allison combo for drag racing. I was wondering which model you guys would suggest to use? Also, which upgrades are the best bang for the buck for said model?

Thank you very much.

all of the Dmax's are great engines, they all have great mods that can be bought. handheld tuners good for up to 350hp, or have someone tune you a efi live tune

the Fastest Diesel in a truck body is a LBZ duramax but the most popular high HP one is the LB7 but for me i would do any of them but you'll have to do internal engine upgrades for above 550-600HP..

I agree with him exactly!

The LBZ (2006 - 2007.5) has the most power stock the LB7 (2001-2004?) would be the cheapest and easiast to find a "doner" vehicle.

When you start to do it be sure to keep us posted as well!

The injectors and air boxes are better shonuff,no more over heating probs either..IMO i'd get the lbz,but the earlier ones are better for mileage, and cheaper to mod,a set of injectors for a lbz,at this moment runs about 1000 EACH,as a lb7 injector is easily found for 250-350 dollars...
