6.4 powerstroke ?
My dad is looking ar a couple 08 & 09 4x4 f250 6.4 . He knows of the issues with the 6.0 but wants to know if the 6.4 have many Issues? Thanks for any advice or help

6.4s are pretty good pickups. Just delete the dpf and you'll be good!

Yup, the DPF needs to go ASAP. They also do well with a EGR delete.
Once that's done, the 6.4 is pretty solid.
It's fairly common to put down 580-590RWHP with just a H&S hot damn tune, DPF free exhaust and a upgraded Intake....on a Stock trans!

they still blow headgaskets. go a head and put the big tune on, but save your money for studs. also the long blocks won't last near as long as say a cummins or duramax. they have lifter problems in the heads, their ring gaps are "loose" allowing for alot of blow-by and even problems with "making oil" , fuel in the oil. also have problems with cracking pistons.

I'd watch out for the "job one" 2008 trucks if you can.
They look and run badass if you dump about 2 grand into one. I'd rock a KR 6.4 if I felt comfortable with reliability long term.

front crank seals leaking, cooling system leaks are common, egr coolers blowing, injector bodies craking causeing fuel in oil (just like an lb7) bedplate leaking oil, h/p fuel pump leaking fuel into the crankcase (cab has to come off for that job) up-pipe bellows cracking causing turbo lag, ive replaced around 15 short blocks due to cylinder washout causing major gouging in the cylinder walls

Buddies 6.4 was a fast truck with the deletes and sparton tuner in it , then engine went "boom"
