7.8l

I didn't know where to put this thread so i stuck it here. Our shop has a 6500 flatbed with a 7.8l duramax in it. To tell you the truth it is kind of gutless. We are looking at our options on getting some more power into it. If someone ahead of you is doing 45 or 50 in a 55 we don't even have enough power to get up and pass them with out using up a mile of road. Anybody know anything about these motors and what the best route would be. It has to stay reliable being a tow truck. Thanks for any input.

many of the employees were able to transfer to the new joint venture named, DMAX Ltd., signifying the Diesel engine and maximum power, cleanliness and fuel economy.

So after many meetings and discussions with Chevrolet Truck and GMC’s marketing, the name: Duramax Diesel 6600 was agreed upon. “Duramax” was meant to highlight the durability and reliability of the new engine

and for all the Cummins guys and Powerstroke/navistar fellows... Isuzu has been producing diesel engines since 1934 i believe.. Very long time..
