05 duramax squeeling noises

I am new to this site so forgive me if i'm in the wrong section. I 'm looking for some help. My 05 duramax with 60,000 miles is making a squeeling/chirping noise under the hood. It only does it at 1300 to 1500 rpm but only after it has warmed up. dealer said it was a belt so they changed it and it still does the same thing. Any one with some answers

I see you live in Why not Minot LOL. More than likely you run your truck on defrost a lot and that will cause your a/c compressor to cycle to help remove excess moisture from the air in the cab. The chirp you hear is the belt slipping every time the compressor kicks on.

As mentioned a quality belt like the Goodyear gatorback should cure your problem. While you have the belt off don't forget to look over all the other accessories to make sure they are in good working order.

Been there and done that...alternator in my case. New belt only cured the noise for about a week.

My 04 and my dads 05 are doing the same thing and i have narrowed it down to the exhaust clamp, and you can not tighten the clamp enough to fix it. I talked to my dealership and they said there is a bulletin on it and they can install 2 "vibration dampeners" on the exhaust pipe 17" before the cat. and that will fix it. My dad did this cause his is under warrenty and it fixed his. My problem is that the dampeners are 85.00 a piece.
