water in fuel sensor wrench

JPT has a very nice "how to" with photos on how to change the fuel filter, but I can't find where to buy the wrench for the WIF sensor anywhere.

Any info on where to get this tool for this job would be greatly appreciated. Do I really need the tool to change the filter or can I get this sensor off some other way?

Thanks!

You can check with some of the vendors on here, check on ebay, or (I personally before on this site) got mine from Napa- it is a "Lisle" part, but napa carries it.

Oversized Channel-Locks, just don't squeeze tight enough to damage/warp the plastic. It doesn't take much force to remove or tighten back on the new filter.

Yea, I tried the 'ol channel locks trick the first time I changed my fuel filter...broke the damn WIF sensor, replaced it for 65 bucks and then purchased on ebay the WIF wrench for 12 bucks and change. Do your self a favor and purchase one.Things go really easy when you have the right tools.

They need to be the large ones that most people don't have, I've done over 30 with these and never had a prob. The wrenches are cheap though...NAPA stocks 'em.
