I did a re-route on a 6.5T chevy that looked similar years back and it made the engine drink oil like crazy til I changed it back. How bout the d-max does it change oil comsumption?I know most diesel's have a tube out of the valve cover then vented under the engine.

the lb7 duramax for your year of truck does not have a pcv system it only has a crankcase breather system instead of crankcase fumes bieng sucked into the turbo it simplly has a baffle in each valve cover that is connected to an open breather hose that runs down the side of your block.

good write up gona do this this weekend. i used a rubber cap that goes on the outside to remove resonator and titens with a hose clamp so i dont have a steel bold haning over my turbo inlet. wear do u get a filter for the pvc like that, would a catch can like on a turbo car be better? thanks for the info.

Where did you find a cap for the resonator? Is it heat proof? I would rather have a cap also. Let me know where to look for one or what they are called. Thanks...

It's called a " 2 inch test plug " sold at oreilly and napa stores and most any auto parts store should have them. BTW thanks again for the info psycho.

It is called a jim cap and can be found at any plumbing supply, they come in all sizes and 2" is among them.
