Books and Manuals

I am hoping someone can help. I am looking for some recommendations. I have always bought the appropriate Service or Repair Manual for my vehicles. I have above average skills, and really enjoy tearing into machines, both 2 and 4 wheeled.
All of the regulars (i.e. Hayes, Chilton etc.) do not have anything on the LMM's or any Diesel after 2002.
Is there anything out there like a "Diesel for Dummies" to help me understand how everything inside works.

Hmm you know I never looked! Im sure you can get Chilton type repair manual on the internet. Personally though look for a dmax specific manual if you look. I went to a dmax seminar to learn about the internals more and learning from there and here they are no where NEAR as sufisticated as other diesels.

I've looked too with no luck. The guys at AutoZone tried to sell me some computer software that has tech tips and diagrams up to MY'06, but I didn't buy it. I didn't want to pay for the program and it not have what I was looking for.
To tell you the truth, this site is the best source I have found for help on issues I have had.

I run a A/C Delco repair shop and the nice thing is Delco gives us the student manuals, just finished reading the duramax one very informative. I did look for a chilton one they do not make one that I know of. So I'll hit up our Delco Rep and see if I can squander some more manuals from him.

I broke down and bought the factory manuals. $160. They arent as nice as I thought they would be though. A lot of it involves tech II work which I do not have 4,000 to shell out on one.

They also send you from manula to manual to manual. Just to take my tranny out I had 3 manuals opened.
