I did mine and my buddies truck last week. Simple and extremely easy. I went through 3.5 qts. The brake pedal seems to be alot better. Wow, my fluid was dirty.

Hookem - Thanks for the write up. I am new to the forum and did the flush this weekend. Super easy and it was incredible what came out. I just turned 100k on my 05 Duramax and have been doing the maintenance myself.
After my little hill climbing adventure, Dmax finally met its match mine’s toast and needs a flush….Time to go synthetic with the DexVI and Flush the Brake fluid…pedal’s gettin’ strange and mushy.
Any hints on flushing the brake system?

Get a vacuum bleeder and leave the lid off the master cylinder reservoir. Fill it to the top, then go to the right rear and open the bleeder screw, do it a couple times. Keep going back to the reservoir, DO NOT LET IT GO EMPTY. Fill it again whenever it gets halfway of the reservoir. Then go to the right rear and work your way up to the left front. It should be from the farthest to the closest. It will take a while to get it done. Once you get it to the left front, fill it up again and redo the procedure until you see the fluid is clean.
