I did mine and my buddies truck last week. Simple and extremely easy. I went through 3.5 qts. The brake pedal seems to be alot better. Wow, my fluid was dirty.

Thanks Hookem for the write up, I did the flush today.

My oil was brown! I flushed a full gallon thru it just to be sure. I used Transynd because I had a bunch left over and the difference is awsome.

Now I have to get used to these new super sensitive brakes I never new I had and the steering is very smooooth.

Hookem - Thanks for the write up. I am new to the forum and did the flush this weekend. Super easy and it was incredible what came out. I just turned 100k on my 05 Duramax and have been doing the maintenance myself.

Any hints on flushing the brake system?

Get a vacuum bleeder and leave the lid off the master cylinder reservoir. Fill it to the top, then go to the right rear and open the bleeder screw, do it a couple times. Keep going back to the reservoir, DO NOT LET IT GO EMPTY. Fill it again whenever it gets halfway of the reservoir. Then go to the right rear and work your way up to the left front. It should be from the farthest to the closest. It will take a while to get it done. Once you get it to the left front, fill it up again and redo the procedure until you see the fluid is clean.

^^^They're cheap, $20-$30. AND, you don't have to supply the beer for your Brother-in-law to sit and pump the pedal.
