| 2004 Locking Differential - Question The build sheet on my 2004, 2500HD Duramax, Allison trans shows the following code: PDN - HEAVY DUTY POWER PACKAGE DURAMAX DIESEL 6600 V8 ENGINE ALLISON 5 SPD AUTOMATIC TRANS LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL-REAR AXLE The 4x4 works by pushbutton selecting either normal 2 wheel drive, 4 high or 4 low. So my question: I am wondering what the 'LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL-REAR AXLE' is. Is this a Limited Slip axle or is it something that I can engage manually from the cab? The build sheet also shows 3.73 axle. |

| pretty sure its in the rear end and it a limited slip . theres no E-locker on any GM from the facotry that ive ever seen .

| I just found that there is also a code on the build sheet that shows 'G80 - LOCKING REAR DIFFERENTIAL LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL-REAR AXLE'. |

| It is a conventional limited slip, yes.
