| Thats what I thought right away. While they may not be cast it almost looks like some kind of flaw.

| From the pictures it does not look like the oem pitman arm. looks like moog. from what i have been reading the moogs have been breaking like that. that is why i got oem pitman/ idler arms.

| came off a 2003 Duramax EC/LB 2WD, leveled, cognito braces, cognito idler, and rareparts tie rods. everything was installed correctly. he had some 285 toyo's and was parking when it broke.

| those cognito braces also make me real nervous just for the fact that i broke TWO of those piece of shit nuts that thread through the heim and into the pitman arm by hand without applying any "real" force... as in definitely not even close to what they're supposed to be torqued down to. not to mention the flimsy design when you think about the forces necessary to steer a front heavy 7-8000 lb. truck. cognito is doing us a real disservice by threatening lawsuit to anybody who tries to improve upon their shitty design.. sorry for the vent

| i think i will go with the OEM as well when i replace my pitman and idler on my own truck... i've seem them fail the same way but it seems to occur most/more with the Moog and aftermarket units
