Like the title says, have a customer that had his local shop do a head gasket job with studs valve train upgrade and ported,68mm/S480 MPI twins, 60% inj, dual fuelers, manifolds and then brought it up to retune for the parts. Well it was impressive to say the least. base tune did 520hp, tune 2 did 620hp, tune 3 was good for 720hp and the big tune was good for 855hp 1400ftlbs at 52psi and 1400 degrees. This was a pretty mild tune but all the go fast parts did their job to make power efficiently. Obviously the lower end is not going to like all that power but it is still impressive to make that much power and with a lowerend build this setup is good for over 900hp with ease. It was a blast to drive and I am now jealous, he has 100hp on me!
I should throw a set of big twins on mine and a modded pump and see how long she lasts lol. that's impressive, did he drive it away from the dyno or did he have to be hauled home Mark?
Nope, after we finished the dyno session we took it out for a test drive and it was scary! He knows it is a ticking time bomb on the big tune but I dont think he will use it much, the second tune was stupid fast.:gearjamin
That is really impressive, he spent so much money on all that stuff why not throw a set of pistons in there at least to protect his investment? Either way impressive.
Thanks guys, yes it is a 68mm VVT as the small turbo with S480 over it. I agree it will not last long on the big tune and everyone knows that. I don't know why he didn't do the lowerend while he was at it but it is definitely on his to do list.
