EFI DSP switching question

I get that DSP2 is a two position and DSP5 is a five position switch, but how does it all work?? is there a box with the EFI tunes stored on it and the switch flips through them?? How hard is it to tune and hook up a DSP switch??

You have to flash your computer with a DSP operating system that has 2 or 5 tunes on it. The switch is wired into a pin on your ecm wiring harness and when switch will change the voltage going into the ecm and thus changing the tune. I have a DSP 2 switch but haven't hooked it up yet.
