My LLY has twin turbos, over 600HP and ran 11 sec. 1/4 mile times(500+ passes) for many years and is still on the road everyday pulling heavy trailers with stock internals.

My LBZ has 26,000 miles with 23,000 of them being 600HP plus, 100's of 1/4 mile passes and daily abuse, stock internals.

Tuning has a big effect on how long these live at this level. The LBZ is somewhat of a wild card in the piston dept. though.

Nope, different block, rods, pistons, injectors, computers, cp3 pump, etc. This is the 5 speed LLY, the 6 speed(06) LLY, then yes.

Jeez thats crazy being able to run those high of number with just a lift pump and tranny to support it. On the cummins you gotta have tons of mods before you can run numbers like that. How the heck do you keeps the exhaust temps low enough?

He just meant that you don't have the ability to change on the fly tuning with EFI on the LMMs. You can still tune with EFI but you can't use a DSP switch.

Ok so what would it take to get a 500+ tune from EFI and what other mods to back it up?
