Newby here.......What kind of MPG increase can be achieved from an economy tune if running if pulling a light load or with no load? Looking at an 07 regular cab.
Thanks in advance.

Probably he is using imperial gallon which is more fuel than us gallon, about 10 percent more which would equate to abou 25ish mpg at best,. IMO/

Thanks a ton for the write up! A huge help for someone who's been trying to piece together exactly what EFI is, and how the hell it works, by reading the forums albeit with the same success as a 3rd grader staring at an advanced college level algebra test.
I learned a few things today;
1. I do want EFI Live
2. I will DEFINITELY have someone else who's competent in the arts write the tunes for me.

Can anyone recommend a shop in Northern California? Please shoot me a PM if it's against the rules to post recommended vendors and shop names in the forums.
~Cheers!

as fo diesel being easier than gas, thats debatable. I guess if one were to only learn on 1 or the other it would so be. How ever, if you play with gassers like you say you do, you would know that tuning a gasser is to gain hp from mechanical parts. On a diesel, there is plenty of room for hp in tuning only. A 30hp gain on a gasser is quite good from tuning only, where as in a diesel 30hp isnt even worth the time to mess with a tbiq and pulse table

happy tuning boost.
Ok i dont know anything here and im just trying to understand what im reading. Can anybody just tell me what a tbiq and a pulse table is? I dont wanna know anybodys stuff i dont even have my dmax yet. just trying to understand what the acrynms stand for. Also what is TCM? i know that ECM is the vehicle computer more or less. If you just wanna private message me that would work too dont need it in the thread.

Thanks
Scott

Im not an expert, but i believe i can answer a few of the questions

1. tbiq - no idea
2. pulse table - i believe this one is the injector pulse, for how much fuel to dump in depending on throttle, turbo psi, ect..
3. ECM - Engine control module - ya, engine computer
4. TCM - Transmission Control module - tranny computer.

2 was just an educated guess, im fairly sure im right but not 100%.

i know others will chime in as well

So a couple of random questions that i have acquired from this thread and a few others from all the threads i have read in the last 2 weeks.
What is a lift pump?
What does a built tranny on average cost?
And is it true that built trannys have to be done by a good allison guy or they will likely fail?
Also what are DTC's? i assume some kind of codes but what does it stand for?
Im new to the tuning idea and reading alot to learn as much as i can so when i do purchase my own Dmax i have a good understanding of what everything means.
Oh and EFI live is def the way i will go when the day comes. this setup seems superior to all competitors i have read on hands down.
Thanks
Scott
