Power mirror glass replacement

I have an 05 Silverado with the power extending mirrors and cracked the driverside mirror glass. I have the replacement part but can't get the old one off,well I guess I could finish breaking it but then I wouldn't know how to install the new one. Any of you guys have any experience in installing the replacement glass assembly?

I have succeeded again in turning a 10 minute job into a 2hr job! Just in case any of you ever have to do this all you have to do is push the top of the mirror head all the way in, press in a tab on the bottom center of the mirror head and slide the mirror head up and off of 4 tappered slots in the mirror head. disconnect a couple of wires and reverse the process. I don't want to go into the details of how it took 2 hrs because all of us have been down that road! I will say that you don't have to take the mirror assy. off the truck!!
