Are you on well water or city water? I'm on a well and the PH was about 6.4. Had to put in a iron removal system and a special calcite media to raise the PH up to the 7.0 range. I have water spots on the windows from before the system and am going to try the steel wool/vinegar method and see if that works. I have a friend that works in a body shop and he told me about this a couple of weeks ago, just have not had time yet to do it.

Strraight vinegar(white or the applecider vinegar) are the best things for removing hard water deposits or spots. Its what we use on our boat both on the glass and the hull to remove the water spots then wash and wax the hull, also works well on the diamond tread crome and aluminum on our fire trucks.

Thats What I Have Always Done When I Detail Any Of My Rigs Or Customer Rigs... Use A Buffer And Some Wax , It Will Take Any And All Spots Out Of The Glass And It Will Make The Rain Bead Off Of It And They Will Look Very Sexy And Clean....
