no what i am describing arent your run of the mill rain spots no amount of rubbing or washing will take these off
the clay bar worked on the paint but i also found you could feel the spots on the paint it felt rough, on the glas it fels smooth still ill give a glass shop/detail shop a try
Are you on well water or city water? I'm on a well and the PH was about 6.4. Had to put in a iron removal system and a special calcite media to raise the PH up to the 7.0 range. I have water spots on the windows from before the system and am going to try the steel wool/vinegar method and see if that works. I have a friend that works in a body shop and he told me about this a couple of weeks ago, just have not had time yet to do it.
Strraight vinegar(white or the applecider vinegar) are the best things for removing hard water deposits or spots. Its what we use on our boat both on the glass and the hull to remove the water spots then wash and wax the hull, also works well on the diamond tread crome and aluminum on our fire trucks.
