Hey guys, i am just about to be getting out of Wyotech here in a few months and have been looking hard at getting a crew cab 4x4 duramax, but i have heard that there are some bad years for things such as injectors and what not? Can anyone give me some info on the good years and the bad? it would be greatly appreciated.
Some generations are somewhat "better" than others as far as less problems, and more power output, but i wouldn't say any of them are BAD. These are all great trucks no matter which you buy. If your looking for power, go with a LBZ or LMM (06-08). If you just want a truck that will last you a long time without doing any major mods, then any of them are ideal (01-08). The injector issue you were wondering about came in the LB7 models (01-04) and are backed with a 7 year/ 200,000 mile warranty. The LLY had some overheating issues but can be easily fixed. LBZ had no major problems to speak of, and the LMM just get horrible mpg if the DPF is not deleted and tuner not installed. Hope this helps out a little.
