New lights, figured I'd show off

There's a guy that lives near me that has some marker lights that run along his nerf bars. It got me thinkin that I could probably make up something of my own to run some marker lights down there... it looks pretty sweet. This is what I ended up with.

All it is, is LED's from superbrightleds.com and some aluminum angle bolted to the bottom of the rocker panel... really simple

well if your open for constructive criticism i would tell you i dont like it. sticks out like a sore thumb. it is a personal preference, i get it. maybe if you hide them better it wouldnt be bad. maybe could have put the leds in the nerf bars instead. are you planning on painting or powdercoating? at night it looks good. im a truck driver and personally anything on a big rig stays on a big rig. i like your effort dont get me wrong.

I know what you're saying, that is the one thing I wasn't excited about, how much it is visible during the day. Once it was done I had the idea to paint it to match the truck. I'm thinking about doing that yet to maybe hide it a little more. thanks for the opinion tho

I would say paint it to match and it won't stick out, but I like the idea it is something I have wanted to do for awhile but didn't know where to put the lights. Looks sweet at night!

Thanks, originally I wanted to drill holes right into the rockers to put the lights in but the way the rockers are made it would make the project a lot harder. I went the easy route...

Paint or plastidip for sure. Awesome idea and a heck of a lot cheaper than those "big rig" bars that recon sells

Thanks zeus, I think I'm probably going to go ahead and paint it. I think in total I spent around $60 for everything... I've looked at that recon website; I don't think there's anything on there for less than 60 bucks. haha

what do you think it would look like if they were actually in the nerf bars? too low? drill some holes on the side and u could hide wires under them.

Honestly, the only problem with putting them in the nerf bars is that the lights are "bolt style" so they go in the holes and then the wires are inside of the bar. I guess you could probably figure out a way to get to the wires but it wouldn't be easy. Maybe something I'll look into once I get tired of how much that bracket sticks out.

Painted. definitely an improvement. It's still there but not as noticeable.
