TOW Mirror Problem

I have just purchased some new kool-vue tow mirrors and the adjustment on the passenger side does not match the driver side as in the passenger side sits closer to the door i am just curious if that is the way they all are or if i have a faulty set. also is i adjust the passenger side out one notch i cant adjust it to see out of it. The question i am trying to ask is if the mirrors are suposed to be evenly spaced off the doors?

Depends on what you are towing, mirror adjustment will vary a little.

When the mirror is in the regular position the passenger side is about an inch to inch and a half folded tword the door. it seems like they should be the same distance off the door
