painting truck cost

I was wondering how much it would cost to paint a truck the same color, nothing like a show truck just a decent regular job? I am looking at a used truck for a good price but the body is alittle rough, I will do all the body work, bondo and sanding off the clear coat but I have no where to paint a whole truck.

Maaco is about as cheap as it gets. However, I wouldn't do "CHEAP". Remember you get what you pay for. On a truck, depending on where the body work is needed, the paint shop may (and really should) unbolt the bed and slide it back to get the rear of the cab and front of the bed. This entails dealing with wiring, bed bolts which may or may not be tough to remove, and the fuel filler hose. I would suspect for a decent entire truck paint job (base coat clear coat) would run around a grand. That also takes into account you are NOT painting the inside of the bed. You ARE going to do some sort of spray in bed liner, right?

This is true. I haven't bought a paint job recently. Had an estimate on my Tahoe to replace my hood (pulled a shrub and it attacked the truck when it finally broke loose) realign all the doors, etc (300,000 miles you will see a little shifting), fix all the door dings, and paint the whole thing (white base/clear) for 2500. Maybe I got a heck of a lot better deal than I thought. This was from a good body shop just last year, not billy bob's back yard. I stand corrected then.

No, but I see we are close!

To paint the whole truck properly by a reputable shop I think you would be closer to the $4k range. Its alot of work to do properly. removing handles/mirrors/ fender flares grill ect ect. these are all important things so the paint doesnt peel back.
