Plasti-Dip on bumpers (with finished pics)

I seen the youtube video posted on here of the guy who painted his bumpers using plasti-dip. So I figured I would try it out since i was planning on painting them anyway. I spent $22 on 2 cans of plasti-dip and painters tape, and already had 1000 grit sandpaper but a 3m scuff pad would probably work fine as long as its all smooth.

I used a tarp to cover the hood and tailgate since I wanted to leave the bumpers on the truck, it could be done with them off easier I guess but it took me a little over an hour for 2 coats. Im letting it dry overnight in the garage as a controlled environment and will see how it looks tommorrow

I will have whole pics of the truck up tommorrow if people are interested but this is part of the process.

If it still looks good, I will be doing the flares and maybe something different with my centercaps. I just hate chrome. If this stuff stays tough and doesnt chip easily, I would recommend it, it went on smooth and seemed to cover good.

Tried to take a pic of the back bumper but its still all taped off, didnt wanna pull untill its dry for sure. I might do another coat in the morning depending on how it looks. If it turns out to be shit, ill just do my original plan and pull them off and do it right. No big deal

ive painted my bumpers with a few different paints but not the plastidip the problem that i have is it looks really good for a month or so then the vibration of the bumper valances rubs the paint off and i have to paint it again im thinking that the only way around it is to herculine the whole bumper plastic and all, so let us know if you have that same problem

You said you'd do it Friday and you did it Friday.

Looking forward to the results on this.

I too thought about that, but i guess time will tell. I only put 2 coats on tonight, might do another in the morning. If it does come off, like i said, ill just redo them in actual paint or bed liner type spray. It took maybe over2 hours from getting supplies to finishing it up and cost 20 bucks so im not complaining...yet
