My hood does not sit flush with the top of the headlight on the passenger side, and there is a noticeable gap along the top of the fender. It's the factory hood, and has not been in an accident. It was not like this when I bought the truck. Is there anything that can be done to straighten out the hood? It is driving me nuts.
Are you referring to that rubber piece that sits on top of the fender? I only have one total. (out of how many?) And the hood latch? Didn't even think that was adjustable.
I noticed that the hood in my '06 bounces at the front left corner when going over bumps. Nothing appears out of sorts under the hood though. Should I adjust bump stops also?
Honestly, it looks like the hood isn't latched. Like the rubber bumper is too far extended for the second latch to grab. Can you screw it in and see if the reveal (gap) closes?
They move over time, Perhaps that's why there's only 1 now, the other fell out.
Never even knew what those things were. I have them both, I was looking at the rubber cushions before. The passenger side was sticking up much higher than the driver side. Just screwed it back in level with the other and, wa-lah, hoods straight again. Thanks a lot man, that was driving me nuts for a long time.
