Need some advice. We are staying at a condo on vacation in Florida. I am parked undernieth in the parking deck. We have been here almost a week a twice now I have walked out and found dip and spit on my tailgate and back window. I am furious. I can't imagine why some jack hole would do this. It's a big truck but I'm not blocking anyone.
There are cameras in the deck but they don't cover the corner I am in. I'm thinking of taping a piece of paper to the tailgate saying I have a dash cam and I know who you are.
Are you sure its not just coming from the deck above you? If you put a note on there it will only entice the situation further if it further is it is on purpose.
I wouldn't leave a note especially if you are bluffing. That is only going to be a challenge for them and most likely it will be a challenge excepted. Like said above, is there a deck above your truck? Could somebody be just spitting it off of a balcony and it's landing on your truck? If it's happened more than once, it's going to happen again. I know it's not something you want to do, but maybe actually set up a GoPro so you could see who's doing it and get some street justice. Other than that, to be honest there's not going to be much you can do about it unless you catch the guy red-handed and do something about it yourself. It's very unfortunate but if you were to make a police report, they wouldn't do much about it.
I don't know if it's possible, but maybe try switching parking spots and see if it continues in the spot where you were parked. If you move parking spots, and it continues, somebody is obviously out for your truck going out of their way to spit on it
It's a lot under the building. Only one level and the spots are numbered. I'm not able to move spots but I can park outside and in front of the condo if a spot frees up.
Probably not a good idea to put a paper on it, -- that may escalate the problem and also they may take that as a challenge "Catch Me if you Can".
Best to find another parking spot.
I had a similar situation when on vacation in, you guessed it "Florida". At a resort someone twice left chocolate bars on my bed rails and it would run down the sides of the bed when it melted. This was an assigned spot. After that I parked in a different spot on the street everyday and it didn't happen again. There are Aholes everywhere you go. I think it best not to provoke them unless you can do something about it.
I have the DOD LS430W and the motion mode works good. But it's only a single forward, no rear-view slave unit. Amazing night vision.
I'm looking at the New LS500W dual channel coming out soon, performs like my 430w, but has many more features and longer recording time...plus the rear view.
Hook em' this seems like a good choice. My buddy came over tonight and said oh hey my trail cam went off...got a notification on his phone. Do any dash cams do that?
I didn't do anything about it. I had no time left and it prob was best I didn't. There were cameras in that single deck under the condo but one could see they weren't focused in my direction through the bubble. If it would have been permanent damage I would have sat in a chair in a dark corner with a camera and a fist full of 'o hell no. Just a poor sap with no real life or aspiration.
I haven't run across that yet in one.
But there's so many out there to try and choose from, it's hard to ascertain quality from hype. Worse than shopping chinaBomb STs for the trailers.
I've been thru several that couldn't handle the heat and they'd crash. Others don't have the CPU power to handle the load, like trying to run Win-10 on a Win-95 hardware. And they crash.
This is the Night Vision example of the LS430W, along with the info bar at the bottom;
