Need opinions on running steps

Hey guys. I want to buy the Ranch Hand running steps for my 2017 2500HD with short bed. I am torn between the 2 step and 3 step with bed access.

I do have a tool box but question the real usability of the step there. I also wonder if the third step would not look as good as the two step.

Do you guys have opinions on this?

For functionality reasons, go with the 3rd step to access the tool box. As you know, these bed sides are much taller than past models. My previous truck was an '04 and I ran "wheel-to-wheel" bars with a third pad to access the bed or tool box. I didn't realize how much this is missed with the stock length steps on my current truck that have no bed / tool box access. If I ever replace the stockers, I will definitely have the 3rd step...

I agree with the third step, if your older like me it really helps with the tool box. Those are some nice bars.
